W. Hugh McAngus, Jr.
Mr. McAngus is a member of Chappell Smith and Arden's litigation team, practicing in the areas of auto and tractor trailer accidents, products liability (dangerous and defective products), general litigation, and social security disability.
In 2001, Mr. McAngus received his B.A. from the University of South Carolina, magna cum laude, where he double majored in English and Religious Studies and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.After two years living in Asheville, North Carolina, Mr. McAngus returned to South Carolina to attend law school.In 2006, Mr. McAngus received his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law, magna cum laude, where he was a member of the South Carolina Law Review, Order of Wig and Robe, and Order of the Coif.While in law school, Mr. McAngus received the CALI Award (formerly American Jurisprudence) in Evidence, Business Crimes, and Sales.
Mr. McAngus is admitted to practice in all South Carolina and North Carolina state courts, and the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.Mr. McAngus is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina State Bar, the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives.
