David M. Bornemann
Area of Practice: Worker's Compensation
David attended the University of South Carolina School of Law, receiving his degree in 2006. During law school, he was active in the Student Bar Association, serving as President (2005-2006) and Vice President (2004-2005). David founded the Law School Advocates, a student organization designed to represent the school in various capacities. He served as Student-Chair of the Student-Faculty Task Force, was a member of the John Belton O’Neal Inn of Court, represented the law school on Student Senate, and served on several University Committees.
David attended the Honors College at the University of South Carolina where he received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Finance and Marketing. During school, he served as President of Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society; was a past recipient of the Steven N. Swanger Award (recognized as USC’s second highest undergraduate award); was a member of the Mortar Board Honor Society; received the Outstanding Senior Award; served in various capacities on Student Government; received the Mortar Board Honor Society Scholarship; was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity; and, was recognized in Who’s Who Among American Universities and Colleges.
Before joining Chappell, Smith & Arden, David served as Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Paul M. Burch of South Carolina’s Fourth Judicial Circuit.
David is a member of the American Bar Association (Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section, Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability Law Committee); the South Carolina Bar Association; the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Educational Association; the United Way Young Leaders Society; and Phi Delta Phi.
